Rocking with each step of the camel, the silent desert surrounding us was ethereal in the moonlight. We could make out an orange glow climbing the sky, chasing away the darkness and blotting out the stars. We watched, breathless, as the morning sun climbed higher and higher, bathing the world around us in a golden light. Cresting the sand dunes surrounding us, the rays of the sun peeked over the horizon, marking the beginning of a new day on the Sahara Desert.
